I have been wanting to colour my hair red for a long time now. But I was delaying it for obvious reasons, what if it make me look crazy (which I am anyways), what if I hate it, I don't want to bleach my hair, etc etc. And after a year of delaying I finally did it.

This is my hair before I coloured it.

I did it at home without bleaching my hair. Thankfully there are lot of products available these days that allow you to colour your hair red without bleaching it. I researched for the best red shade for my olive skin colour first and found out that I can do anything I want it's my hair lol.

The colour I selected is Garnier Olia Carmin Red. It is ammonia free and the pack contains everything. Colour, developer, self applicator, gloves, hair conditioner and instruction leaflet. Perfect for me as I don't like to do the guess work when it comes to these things.

When I picked it up I checked at the back what shade my hair would be after colouring as I have dark brown hair.

It was very easy to apply with the help of the self applicator and took me around 10 minutes to apply. Make sure you have a towel or old t-shirt. Also, apply it at a place which can cleaned easily otherwise you end up with red spots on your clothes and carpet. I left it for 30 minutes, rinsed it and applied the conditioner.

It is recommended not to wash hair with shampoo for two days for the colour to set in. That's what I did and I love the results. Hers's me flaunting my hair even though I didn't get much sleep at night as baby kept waking up.

Here is the before and after shot. I think I would like to stay a red head for a while now.

Disclaimer : I am not a hair professional. This post is about how I coloured my hair.
