Our first house

We bought our first house in 2013 just before our first baby was born. It was tough physically, mentally and financially. However, we wanted our baby to be born in his own house so we decided to take the step forward. It took us five months to find the house we could afford and we really liked. It was perfect for us, three bedroom house with a deck and a massive garden with a beautiful lemon tree. Buying a house is a huge task and not to mention tough on the finances.

When we saw this house we were absolutely sure we wanted it. Whatever we wanted in our first house it was there. We could see ourselves living there. It was at a perfect location. We have two schools nearby, supermarket, a river and a nice view. We decided to put our offer in with all our hopes that we would get it.

After two days we heard from the real estate agent that the seller wants us to up our offer for him to consider it. We knew we were stretching it but it had to be done. Finally we got the house and we were really happy and mind you I was 5 months pregnant so I use to get extra emotional at everything. Well, it was a big deal anyways so I cried a little, happy tears.

When we moved in our house in October 2013 we had zero balance in our bank. We literally put everything we had towards the house. It was tough and considering that the baby was due in another four months we had to make sure we were ready for the baby too. And our parents were coming from overseas to see the baby too.

Both me and my husband were working at that time so slowly and I mean very slowly we were able to get back in track financially. Did I mention my husband is a star and an absolutely amazing person. He handled everything while we had our baby so I can concentrate on the baby. Our first baby was born a month early in his own house on 17th February 2014. He a gorgeous little person with a heart of gold.

Buying this house has taught us so many things. Not only how to manage finances but also when you work together to achieve your dreams your dreams do come true.
