House to home

It's been nearly three years since we moved into our house. This is the first house we bought before our baby number one came along. Since we moved into the house life is been super busy with the baby number one, work, family visiting, us travelling, baby number two and family visiting again.

We really didn't get any time to actually make our house a home. But over the last few months we are actively working on our home. Also, summer is coming so it makes it easy to get outside and do things. We redid our kitchen, stained our deck, have planted some new plants and most of all have been decorating the house with little bits and pieces.

When I was a little a girl it was my favourite thing to do with my family. We use to go shopping to find unique things for our home. We would go window shopping to so many places before we would decide on one thing. As everything we got for the house should be able to reflect us as a family.

Now that I have my own house I want to do the same thing. It's like more attention and love you give to your home it gives back even more. It's all the little things that count, from a little door hanging to a fruit bowl and to the wall clock (owls are my favourite).

Sometimes it seems impossible to keep the house in a nice tidy state due to the presence of a toddler. It's like the house stays clean for maximum an hour and it goes back to being a big box of toys (hahaha). Why do I even bother cleaning? (lol). However, all the memories we are making in this house with both our kids is priceless.

Our home is a work in progress and may be it will always be a work in progress. But this journey from house to home has made me and my husband fall in love all over again. It's a blessing to be able to spend your life with your best friend. And I am the lucky one.
