Last night we went to my husband's work Christmas dinner. The out of ordinary thing for us was to go without our kids... WHAT??? Yes now that my in - laws are here we were able to leave the babies with them and go out on our own. Well, it's easier said than done.

First of all, I am not use to it and second of all they have been here only four days and I didn't wanted to overwhelm them. Anyways, they were super awesome and asked us not to worry and go have a great time. As we were getting close to leave I started to miss my kids already... gosh what is wrong with me lol.

I am so use to having our kids with us all the time that it was a weird feeling. I felt like I had all this extra time and I don't know what to do with it. It is amazing how a mother's life is so dedicated for her kids (thanks mum). I actually had to make an effort to be just my husband's wife lol.

It took me few moments to realise that yes we need to enjoy some husband wife time too, while we have mum and dad around. And I did have a good time at the dinner. But I secretly missed my kids every second. It's crazy how I went from being scared of kids (when I didn't had my own) to missing them so much.

Anyways, back to the dinner. We went to Joe's Garage in New Plymouth New Zealand for the dinner. It is a chilled out spot and has a great setting with a relaxed, industrial feel. Joe's has exposed brick walls, natural wooden bars and urban feature lights create an amazing atmosphere. They have long tables which makes it perfect for work, family and friends to have a great time together.

The food was second to none too. Everyone on the table ordered something different on the menu. I ordered a chicken burger and my husband got some fish and chips. Yummyyyyyy... For dessert I got some Raspberry Cheesecake and my husband got some chocolate brownie. If you ever go to Joe's try both. It was beautifully presented and tasted even better.

Overall, it was an amazing night. It was good to catch up with everyone. I lasted whole 2 and half hours there lol. On our way back we got some ice cream for our toddler and mum and dad. He was very excited to see us (no strike that). He was excited to the ice cream :D...
