Well we have been travelling a lot lately with our kids. We have been to South Island and pretty much every weekend we go out on a road trip.

This weekend we are in Rotorua. If you know me, you would know I like to plan everything to the last detail before we leave the house. Once we are on the road I am not too worried if things change. However, when you have kids everything changes all the time so worrying is not going to help anyways.

You would think from our pictures, look at them having so much fun on a family trip. Well as much this is true the behind the sences reality is that to take that one happy picture it takes may be half an hour to an hour to get everyone together lol.

If you have kids you would know exactly what I am talking about. Everything we want to do is planned in a way so one person would take care of the kids and one person would go and do whatever is planned. And I am talking about part tired, part hungry and very excited kids. So you can imagine everything takes twice, sorry let me correct that four times as long.

This is exactly what happened to us as soon as we came to Rotorua yesterday. My toddler got some sort of tummy infection and was up all night throwing up. At 4am in the morning we took him to emergency as we wanted to make sure he was ok. It was nothing serious but obviously we were worried.

We came back home at 6am and took a quick nap and were back on the road at 9 am (as planned). Thanks to the large flat white I was able to enjoy our 'relaxing' day at the spa.

We were so tired after the whole day and thankfully the kids were tired too we came back and slept for another 3 hours to catch up on our sleep. Right now it's 5.45 pm and I Am writing this blog post because my babies are fast asleep.

Kids teach you a lots of things.

1. Don't think it will go to plan ever - CHANGE is part of life

2. Everything runs according to their time - PATIENCE

3. No matter how tired or hungry or sick you are, you can only take care of yourself after you take care of your kids - SACRIFICE

In a way they are the best teachers. You would think you are teaching them but in reality they teach us so many things without realising.

We are still in Rotorua. I will post about all the places we visited once we are back. Love you all xxx
